László Szlávics Jr.

“He mainly makes medals and plaques. In the field of traditional struck medals he created a specific, softer style. Making his cast medals, earlier he applied an imprint method with a lyrical effect, later a cubistic style (Van Gogh series, 1993).

Since the mid 1990s his works have been on the borderline of medal making, e.g. light and sound effects or movement are built in his steel medals. With his series of ritual proto-money, he created a unique form of expression by using unusual materials (feather, bone, pearls).

With his sculptures, especially the ones on public places, he follows a more traditional way. (Damjanich János, Szeged, 1988; Zrinyi Miklós, Pécs, 1989; Széchenyi Ödön memorial tablet, Budapest, 1989; Görgey Artúr sculpture, Budapest, 1990; St Florian relief, Budapest, 1992)”
